If you have kids and/or pets that make keeping your home looking nice difficult, visit my blog. There, you will find some tips to decorating your home in a way that makes it look very nice, but durable enough to remain in great condition while your kids and pets live their lives in it.

Are You Decorating A Princess Room For Your Little Girl?

Has your little girl outgrown her toddler bed? If so, maybe you have decided that this is the perfect time to redecorate her bedroom. Does she love everything that has to do with princesses? Maybe she has the complete collection of princess movies. She probably also has princess dolls and even a princess costume, right? With that in mind, from selecting wooden plantation shutters for her windows to choosing other bedroom decor, here are some ideas that might help you.

The Window Treatment - While selecting your little girl's window treatment might not be the most fun part of decorating her princess room, it is a good place to start. Consider choosing wooden plantation shutters for the windows. They may not seem that princessy, but they'll still be a great choice. When you think about it, your little girl probably won't always want a princess-themed room, will she? Later on, her love might be horses or teen idols. No matter the theme of her room, wooden plantation shutters will go with that theme.

Wooden plantation shutters are affordable and easy to install. In addition, they'll be easy to clean, too. Just use a feather duster. If the time comes that the windows need extra attention, just use water, a gentle cleanser, and a soft rag and the job will be done.

And, for more of a princess look with the shutters, consider stenciling around the windows. For example, you could stencil things like tiaras, flowers, and unicorns in colors your little girl loves. Or, add tulle fabric around the plantation shutters. Pink, turquoise, lavender, or yellow are all good princess colors, right? Those would be great for the color of the tulle.

Other Bedroom Decor - Shopping for your little girl's princess room is probably going to be more fun than you can imagine. Look for things like a princess bedspread and princess throw pillows to put on the bed. Or, go with a totally pink room, including pink lace to create a bed canopy. A crystal chandelier will be fabulous in your little girl's princess room.

Unicorn bedside table lamps and pictures of castles and princesses would be very nice additions. If your little girl does have a collection of princess dolls, think of displaying them on a pretty white or pink wooden shelf. Think of hanging her princess costume on her bedroom wall, using a fancy clothes hanger.
